How Federal Tax Dollars Support Planned Parenthood Patients

Okay so Trump is trying to get states not to give any more funding to Planned Parenthood clinics, because they “only” use the money for abortions. Well… I wish the country didn’t vote Trump in, because supporting him to become President of the United States is like supporting other sexual assaulters to become anything they want even after they have hurt numerous women. 😛

Anywho, to be defund Planned Parenthood completely, wouldn’t be a wise thing to do considering the damage that “Trumpcare” could have done especially for women and the poor. If it wasn’t for Planned Parenthood my mother would have not have been able to receive inexpensive preventative care against breast cancer.  She’s still doing well. If it wasn’t for Planned Parenthood I would have not been able to receive free STI and HIV/AIDS testing after being sexually assaulted. I am STI, HIV/AIDS negative. If it wasn’t for Planned Parenthood, millions of women would have received basic health care checkups. They are doing well. The infograph below, showcases  how federal tax dollars are used to help people who use Planned Parenthood services.

Every year, national Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (nwghaad) is recognized on March 10th to recognize how HIV/AIDS has affected Women and girls nationwide (AIDS.org). But this day can also be used to encourage women and girls to make smart decisions when it comes to having sex (womenshealth.gov). I mean yeah sure there’s abstinence, but just in case you get too into the mood, it doesn’t hurt have things in place to protect yourself.

Also say, like myself, you were raped. You didn’t HAVE a choice. You were tricked. Coerced. This day helps to recognize the importance of getting checked. Whether you were raped or you chose to have sex. I fortunately did not get HIV/AIDS, but it’s also why I want you and/ your loved one to get checked. I know you might be scared, but it’s okay…I was scared too. But if you don’t get yourself checked, that won’t make the possibly of getting or not getting HIV/AIDS go away. No. You need to get checked. Your loved one needs to get checked.

That’s why this year’s theme is titled, “The Best Defense is a Good Offense.” So we can make the best decisions we can to protect ourselves and our partners when having sex. And for those those women and girls already living with HIV or AIDS, we say them, you are not alone. You are NOT forgotten. You ARE worthwhile.

We live in a time when we have treatments available to help those living either AIDS or HIV. However the stigma is still there and it’s that which prevents people to seek testing and/or treatment. This HAS to stop. People who live with AIDS or HIV  don’t have to live with a death sentence around their neck. They can live full lives.

Although, nwghaad is only for one day, I will still spread the message out over the course of the month of March. It’s essential that we look after ourselves.

A Legacy Made To Ensure the Physical Well-Being of Women

I gotta tell you with out the American Care Act that President Obama created, I would have NEVER received birth control pills for my fibroid and  STI and HIV/AIDS testing after being sexual assaulted. So, I am eternally grateful for his legacy so I can begin my own.
